The Daytona Beach Shores Christmas Parade to benefit Operation Changing Lives will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, followed by Food Trucks and DJ Dave at the Shores Community Center, 3000 Bellemead Drive, Daytona Beach Shores, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Members of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at Veterans Park (behind the Community Center) at 4:30 p.m., and the celebration will culminate with the Tree Lighting at Veterans Park at approximately 5:45 p.m.
The parade will begin at Crabby Joe’s parking lot, 3701 S. Atlantic Ave., and travel north on South Atlantic Avenue (A1A) for nearly 2 miles, turning left (west) onto Bellemead Drive and ending at the Shores Community Center. Deadline to register a unit in the parade is Nov. 26. Call 386-281-3000.
NOTE: A special traffic pattern will be in effect for the parade, beginning at 12:45 p.m. and remaining in effect until the conclusion at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Northbound traffic on South Atlantic Avenue (A1A) – between Emelia Avenue and Thames Avenue – will be directed to Cardinal Boulevard and South Peninsula Drive, as all northbound lanes will be closed.
The southbound lanes of South Atlantic Avenue (A1A) between Emilia and Thames will also be closed, and traffic will be directed to Cardinal Boulevard and South Peninsula Drive – except between Van Avenue and Dunlawton Boulevard, where the southbound lanes will remain open.
