SOUTH DAYTONA — City officials and area business leaders gathered Monday afternoon to celebrate the groundbreaking of the first new apartment development in this city in more than 30 years.
The planned Enclave at 3230 apartment complex will offer 256 luxury units at 3230 S. Ridgewood Ave., across the street from the Halifax River.
“It’s been decades, since the mid-’80s (since the last new apartments were built in South Daytona),” said Patty Rippey, the city’s redevelopment director.
The most recent multifamily residential project to be built in South Daytona was the 188-unit Halifax Landing luxury condominium complex just up the street at 2801 S. Ridgewood Ave., which opened in 2008.
The new apartment project is a joint venture of developers Capital Apartment Group based in South Florida and Orlando area-based Integra Land Company.
